Spac3D for event production & equipment hire

Plan the production.
See the setup.

A new venue, a revised stage brief, a tight schedule: Spac3D brings the proposed setup into one shared view. For event technicians and hire companies who want to make spatial planning easier to understand.

Agree the setup before allocating equipment

Event production and equipment hire often need clear coordination: does the proposed setup fit the venue, and do the client and crew understand the same arrangement? Spac3D combines the room, stage and equipment in a visible layout.

Translate the brief into a spatial layout

Start with the venue dimensions and the event format. For a talk, the stage, screen and sightlines matter. For live performances, add instruments, monitors and a control position. Include permanent fixtures before arranging the equipment you bring.

Bring departments together in one layout

Arrange trusses, lighting and speakers in relation to the stage and audience. Give FOH its own working area. Changes to the stage can then be reviewed alongside the other equipment positions.

Share the agreed version

An image is useful for discussing positions. An equipment list supports the subsequent check against your actual kit. Keep the project file so you can edit changes later. For export details, see equipment lists and project files.

Bring stage and equipment together

Combine stage platforms, position trusses and base plates, and add lighting and audio equipment from the catalogue. Elements include speakers, stage monitors, LED PARs and moving heads. You can adjust positions, orientation and properties.

Try different arrangements in the room. The visualisation helps you compare the stage area with the venue and explain intended equipment positions. It does not replace lighting simulations, acoustic calculations or structural checks.

Discuss the same plan with clients and crew

A saved image is useful for discussing the concept. Show where the stage, technical equipment and other furniture are planned. When changes arise, continue editing the project and save a new version.

Export the project file for further editing and download a CSV equipment list when needed. The list is based on elements included in the layout. Check it against your actual equipment and any additional accessories before use.

Example: a live stage with a dedicated FOH position

The view on this page shows a production layout in a 14 × 13 metre room. An 8 × 4 metre stage holds the band's instruments. Lighting and flown speakers are arranged with the truss system.

The audience area remains clearly defined in front of the stage. FOH has its own desk with mixing consoles and an equipment rack. Showing the relationship between stage, audience and control positions makes location discussions more specific.

The layout shows intended positions. Cable routes, power requirements, loads and system design must be developed separately for technical implementation. For arranging stage platforms, see the stage planning guide.

Practical questions.

How can Spac3D help an equipment hire business?

It helps create spatial layouts and coordinate stages, trusses, lighting, audio and other equipment with clients and crew. The equipment list can support checks against planned elements.

Can I show the FOH position in my layout?

Yes. Tables, mixing consoles and other equipment can be arranged as a dedicated control area.

Does Spac3D manage the availability of my rental stock?

No. Spatial planning and an exported equipment list do not replace stock management, reservations or allocation.
